Why I feel Priests should just read the black and do the red

It's no secret that there is much division in the Church today, especially with regard to the Liturgy. I've written about this before, and I must re-emphasise on how sad I find this to be. The Liturgy is supposed to be the very thing that unites us as Christians, and we choose to fight over it because of our personal preferences.  I've written before that the Norvus Ordo Liturgy is indeed rooted in the traditions of the faith. I've mentioned that the Mass today looks a lot more like the Early Church than many of us think it does. I've also made it clear that I'm not one of those Catholics who would advocate for the Tridentine Mass to be the only form of worship officially recognised by the Church. But if there's one thing I absolutely agree with the "traditionalists" on, it is the fact that there are more than a few members of the clergy who allow for the Norvus Ordo Liturgy to be celebrated in a manner which is not ideal. A manner which unfortunat

The story of Jesus healing the two blind men in Matthew's Gospel probably needs no introduction for most of us. In fact, this was one of the scripture passages you would probably have heard at Mass last week, if you managed to attend a Weekday Mass of course. We all know how Jesus healed the two men. And we know that Jesus did so because of their faith.  However, as I was reflecting on this passage last week, the first line of the passage was what caught my attention.  "As Jesus went on his way, two blind men followed him, shouting, "Take Pity on us, Son of David!"" I found it rather strange that two men, who were both visually impaired, were able to follow someone. This someone, who we all know to be Jesus, led them to the house, where he restored their sight. I found it rather thought-provoking that two men, who could not see, were able to follow the light of the world. And when they reached a destination, the light of the world gave them new sight.  I suppose

The year 2020 has indeed been a rather interesting year for all of us. In the midst of the world fighting the battle against the COVID-19 Pandemic, it seems that many couples have gotten engaged this year. I must say that I for one am glad that this is happening. In a world where darkness seems to be getting the upper hand, where fear and uncertainty still lurks among us, it's heartening to know that the power of love is still very much present during this difficult time. It's even more exhilarating to know that many of these couples are Catholic, and have made the decision to be a sacrament of God's love in the world.  However, as much as we should praise and thank God for the gift of more vocations to the Married Life, it's no secret that more than a few Catholic couples enter into the covenant of Matrimony without first understanding a very fundamental principle, which applies not just to the Sacrament of Matrimony, but to the Christian Faith as a whole. It is not ab
